CANCER

Into: (MUBARAK)

-Believe it or not, cancer has afflicted people for several centuries. It is not a new disease. Because of the early research that we hold, a greater knowledge of cancer discover today. Cancer is the third-leading cause of death in the world, after heart disease and accidents.  Lung, breast and colon are the three most common types of cancer.

Definition(MUBARAK) :

-Cancer, also called malignancy, is an abnormal growth of cells. There are more than 100 types of cancer.

History(MUBARAK) :

-The history of cancer actually begins much earlier. The world's oldest documented case of cancer hails from ancient Egypt, in 1500 b.c. In ancient Egypt, it was believed cancer was caused by the Gods.

Other theories surfaced, such as cancer being cause by trauma, parasites, and it was thought that cancer may spread "like a liquid." It was later concluded that cancer spread through malignant cells by German surgeon, Karl Thiersch.In 1926 a Nobel Prize was wrongfully awarded for the discovery of the cause of stomach cancer a worm.

-How it spreads in our the bodies : (SALAH)

All cancers begin in cells. Our bodies are made up of more than a hundred million million (100,000,000,000,000) cells. Cancer starts with changes in one cell or a small group of cells. Cancer is a genetic disease—that is, it is caused by changes to genes that control the way our cells function, especially how they grow and divide. Each person’s cancer has a unique combination of genetic changes. As the cancer continues to grow, additional changes will occur. A cancer that has spread from the place where it first started to another place in the body is called metastatic cancer. The process by which cancer cells spread to other parts of the body is called metastasis.

Symptoms(SALAH):

-A symptom is a signal that’s felt or noticed by the person who has it, but may not be easily seen by anyone else. For example, weakness, aching, and feeling short of breath may be symptoms of pneumonia. Cancer is a group of diseases that can cause almost any sign or symptom. The signs and symptoms will depend on where the cancer is, how big it is. If a cancer has spread, signs or symptoms may appear in different parts of the body. Sometimes, it’s possible to find cancer before having symptoms.

The popular signs are :

Unexplained weight loss

Most people with cancer will lose weight at some point. When you lose weight for no known reason, it’s called an unexplained weight loss. An unexplained weight loss of 10 pounds or more may be the first sign of cancer

Fever

Fever is very common with cancer, but it more often happens after cancer has spread from where it started. Almost all people with cancer will have fever at some time, especially if the cancer or its treatment affects the immune system

Pain

A headache that does not go away or get better with treatment may be a symptom of a brain cancer. Most often, pain due to cancer means it has already spread from where it started.

Causes (SALAH):

Genetic changes that cause cancer can be inherited from our parents. They can also arise during a person’s lifetime as a result of errors that occur as cells divide or because of damage to DNA caused by certain environmental exposures. Cancer-causing environmental exposures include substances, such as the chemicals in tobacco smoke, and radiation, such as rays from the sun. Cancer is more likely to affect the very old. Also, the world has higher radiation levels now, and people are also living more unhealthy lifestyles.

Diagnosis is the way to keep your-self in safe: (Mubarak)

The earlier cancer is diagnosed and treated, the better the chance of its being cured. Some types of cancer -- such as those of the skin, breast, mouth -- may be detected by routine self-exam or other screening measures before the symptoms become serious.. In a few cases, cancer is diagnosed as a result of evaluating or treating other medical conditions. Cancer diagnosis begins with a thorough physical exam and a complete medical history.

Types on caner >> the most common in the world !! and there is a photo in the discktop!    (MUBARAK)

-There are many types of cancer for example lung, breast, colon and prostate cancer, those are the most common cancer in the world.

Here you can find information about world cancer statistics for the most common cancers in 2012.

There were an estimated 14.1 million cancer cases around the world in 2012, of these 7.4 million cases were in men and 6.7 million in women. This number is expected to increase to 24 million by 2035.

The cancer in the UAE (SALAH) !

Many people do not do medical examination in our country and these usually result in late detections. Breast cancer is the most common cancer in females in the UAE, according to the Ministry of Health. Women under 40 should have physical check-ups, and after the age of 40, women should request a mammogram every two years.

The government of United Arab Emirates has contributed to fight cancer on the Arab and international levels, by providing the necessary treatment for cancer patients for free inside and outside the country.

Care and Treatments of these disease: (MUBARAK)

As already outlined, world-class facilities such as the Imperial College London Diabetes Centre, the Gulf International Cancer Centre, Dubai Hospital provide high standards of care for people suffering from these diseases.

There are many examples of treatments such as:

Surgery

Surgery can be used to diagnose, treat, or even help prevent cancer in some cases. It often offers the greatest chance for cure, especially if the cancer has not spread.

Secondly Chemotherapy

Chemotherapy (chemo) is the use of medicines or drugs to treat cancer.

In addition Radiation Therapy

Radiation therapy uses high-energy particles or waves to destroy or damage cancer cells. It is one of the most common treatment for cancer.

Conclusion(MUBARAK):

Those are some example of some treatment. Moreover, Medicines can also lead to cancer.
